York College and the York Daily Record/Sunday News will co-sponsor a debate among the candidates vying for the 95th District state House of Representatives seat May 14 in the York College Collegiate Performing Arts Center.

Democrat Kevin Schreiber, Green Party candidate Bill Swartz and Republican Bryan Tate have all committed to participate.

A special election for the 95th District will be held during the May 21 primary to fill a seat vacated when former state Rep. Eugene DePasquale was elected Pennsylvania Auditor General. The 95th District includes York, North York, West York, Spring Garden Township and part of West Manchester Township.

Dr. David Polk, York College professor of behavioral sciences and partner in Polk-Lepson Research Group, will moderate the session.

In addition, the two candidates running for York County Common Pleas Court judge, Michael Flannelly and Todd Platts, will speak about their qualifications for office.

The judicial candidates will speak beginning at 6:30 p.m. The state House debate will begin at 7 p.m.
