More than four tons of trash picked up at two York County illegal dump sites

More than four tons of trash were picked up at two illegal dump site cleanups coordinated by Keep York County Beautiful in April.

During the Bunker Hill Road cleanup event on April 20 in Peach Bottom Township, 16 volunteers and two township equipment operators helped pick up 2.39 tons of trash, according to a news release.


 

During the Hanover Trolley Trail cleanup on April 27 in Jackson Township, 17 volunteers, a township equipment operator and township manager helped pick up 2.12 tons of trash and 700 pounds of scrap metal.

 


Scrap metal was recycled separately from the trash, according to the release.
