York County commissioners approved bridge funding for Dillsburg Senior Activity Center, which recently lost its contract with the York County Area Agency on Aging.
Under the memorandum of understanding, approved Wednesday, the county will provide $1,000 per month, retroactively, each month that the center serves an average of 35 meals or more daily to local seniors.
If the center meets that goal for six of the nine months between now and March, the local agency will offer it status as a satellite nutrition center.
Right now, the senior center is responsible for the cost of the meals, said Dianna Benaknin, director of the agency. If it becomes a satellite nutrition center, the agency would be responsible for the cost of the meals, according to the agreement.
