Groups to hold “Un-Welcome Boehner Party” outside Scott Perry fundraiser

Progressive groups are holding an “Un-Welcome Boehner Party,” in response to his scheduled appearance at a fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, R-York County.

WHAT:           Rally to “Un-Welcome Speaker of the House John Boehner to PA
WHEN:          TODAY, Noon, Monday, August 5, 2013
WHERE:        Parking lot closest to Metro Bank Park, City Island, Harrisburg
WHO:             Local citizens, representatives of Keystone Progress, Pennsylvanians
                     United for Immigration Reform, SEIU Healthcare PA, SEIU 32BJ, Center
                        for Popular Democracy, Organizing for Action, NEPA Area Labor
                        Federation, Central PA Area Labor Federation

(HARRISBURG, PA)—Speaker of the House John Boehner will be coming to Harrisburg on Monday and lots of local citizens plan to be there to greet him. They plan to send a message that Boehner’s policies are not right for our communities, our state and our nation.

Citizens will be bringing a diverse message, with signs representing their organizations and their issues.  The organizers expect a large crowd, with great visuals.
