Registration now open for York County Veterans Day program

Registration for this year’s York County Veterans Day program is now open, the county said in a news release Wednesday.

The public ceremony features a buffet breakfast followed by a ceremony to honor veterans. This year’s program will take place Nov. 10 at the Utz Arena on the grounds of the York Expo Center.

The release states that the event is being held the day before Veterans Day to maximize participation.

The cost for people to participate in both the breakfast and ceremony has been cut in half, to $5 per person, so more veterans and their families can afford to attend, the release states. There is no cost for people to attend only the ceremony.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 25. Walk-ins on the day of the program will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis if seats remain available.

People can register by sending a registration form and check, payable to York County Veterans Affairs, to the Department Of Veterans Affairs at 100 W. Market St., York, Pa. 17401. The registration form is available at www.ycva.org.

People can also register in person at the Veterans Affairs’ office.
