York County apparently has a strong interest in pedalcycles and pedestrians.
That informal conclusion is based on some appointments and nominations that Gov. Tom Corbett recently announced.
Joseph M. Stafford, of the Dallastown area, and Patricia Tomes, of the Dover area, were appointed to the Pedalcycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
What’s the committee do?
Here’s what the state Department of Transportation website says:
The purpose of the Pedalcycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is to advise and comment on all phases of cycling and pedestrian program activities being undertaken of financially assisted by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and agencies of state government.
The two people from York County account for 10 of the recently announced appointments and reappointments.
