Well, they are both Democrats. So this is not the most surprising endorsement.

But here’s what York Mayor Kim Bracey said about Linda Small, who is running for the 28th state Senate seat:

“Linda Small understands the importance of a prosperous City of York to all of the people in York County.  Her focus on creating family-sustaining jobs, restoring state funding for education and making the tax system more fair to local taxpayers is exactly what York needs from its state senator,” Mayor Bracey said.

Small is running in both the March 18 special election and May 20 primary.

YORK CITY MAYOR KIM BRACEY ENDORSES LINDA SMALL FOR PA SENATE

YORK CITY (Feb. 18, 2014)- York City Mayor Kim Bracey endorsed Linda Small for the PA Senate 28th district seat today. Small is running in the special election for the seat on March 18th, 2014.

“Linda Small understands the importance of a prosperous City of York to all of the people in York County.  Her focus on creating family-sustaining jobs, restoring state funding for education and making the tax system more fair to local taxpayers is exactly what York needs from its state senator,” Mayor Bracey said.

“Kim Bracey has met many different challenges as York City’s Mayor.  She has worked tirelessly to attract new businesses and good jobs to York.  She has focused on children and education, and has worked hard to save taxpayers money.  I am pleased she has endorsed me for state senator and hope to work with her to make sure that York City and York County grow stronger together in the years to come,” said Small.

York City Mayor Bracey was elected to her second term as mayor in 2013.

Linda Small, 53, is running for state senator for the 28th district in the special election on March 18, 2014.   She is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9) weather forecaster and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
