The Republican candidates for the 28th state Senate seat will debate May 14 at the York Jewish Community Center.

State Sen. Scott Wagner, R-Spring Garden Township, is competing against Zachary Hearn of Windsor Township for the Republican nomination for a new four-year term. They are both participating, according to the news release.

The York County Republican Club and York Dispatch are hosting the event.

The center is located at 2000 Hollywood Drive in York Township. Doors will open for the event at 6:30 p.m., and the debate begins at 7 p.m.

Linda Small, a Democrat from New Freedom, is unopposed in the May 20 primary.
