My co-worker, FlipSide editor Laura Burkey, sent me a link to this video of a dog greeting her dad after a long deployment. If you're an animal lover, you might want to grab a tissue (at least be prepared for some minor sniffling).
Steve called today (more on that on a later date). He asked me if I'd seen the picture of his husky, Kaia, sleeping on the coffee table.
His wife, Liz, says the dog is probably acting up in Steve's absence. She misses her dad, too.
I'm guessing when Steve comes home next year she'll be just as excited as Gracie.
