Sunday's Super Bowl 44 halftime show was sponsored by Bridgestone Tires.
Since the halftime show was a performance by The Who, perhaps it should have been sponsored by AARP or Medicare.
The Who was formed in 1964. That's 46 years ago; the year I graduated from college.
How many people in the stadium -- or watching at home, for that matter -- where born prior to 1964?
All those modern, flashing electric lights and laser effects could not disguise the age of the music and the performers. The only young person I spotted in the group was the drummer, who definitely appeared to be a post-1964 person.
I'm assuming the halftime organizers were going for a safe act, perhaps still smarting after the "wardrobe malfunction" of a few years ago.
Safe is one thing; geriatric another.
The question is: Who selected The Who?
