Spooky city

So, I've noticed recently that people in the city seem to really go all out
with their Halloween decorations.

Halloween was never really a big outdoor-decoration holiday to me. I think we
used to put our carved pumpkins outside, but I don't recall covering the front porch
in cobwebs, lights, police tape and spiders. And now, people have those giant inflatables for Halloween.
But I've noticed lots of city houses that have a whole lot going on,
decoration-wise. And some of them have had the decorations up for quite a while.
Driving down East Philadelphia Street last night, I think I counted eight or
nine houses decorated. And I seem to remember one on the corner of Queen Street
and Cottage Place, I think, with a yard full of decorations. Next time I get
out, I'll grab some photos.

Are there more decorations this year? Am I the only one who never really
decorated outside for Halloween? Maybe I've just been oblivious to it all
before.

(On a related note, trick-or-treating in the city is scheduled for ... Oct. 31. Visit the city Web site for details and safety tips.
