Talking trash

| | Comments (0)
I left my apartment early today, before the trash was picked up from the curb. But I have my fingers crossed that all of the trash will be taken today.

See, last week, someone put a LOT of trash out at least one day early. Then it poured buckets of rain, so there were many soggy bags of trash spread all over the sidewalk. Everyone else added their trash on the right day, and theirs was picked up. The rest was left behind.

I'm assuming it's because the bags were sopping wet and disgusting, but I can't really be sure. The trash thing really drives me nuts, because people insist on putting it out early. Inevitably, something or someone gets into it, and our sidewalk ends up looking ridiculous.

So here's my public service announcement for the day. Because of Christmas and New Year's, some trash collection in the city will be delayed by one day - for those holiday weeks only!

Thursday collections are postponed until Friday (so, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2).

Therefore, Friday collection is postponed until Saturday (Dec. 27 and Jan. 3).

Monday and Tuesday collections are not affected by the holidays.
