The city and the York County Solid Waste Authority are holding an E-Cycling event on Saturday.
I have all kinds of old electronics collecting in closets and other various storage spaces. The ones I can think of are: an old photo printer that I think I received in college, an old laptop that I purchased from my brother-in-law for, I think, $75 in about 2001, and the desktop computer I bought in 2002 to replace the dying laptop. The last computer has had various issues through the years, and it went it appeared to be finally kicking the bucket recently, I moved it into the closet. I've been using a loaner since.

And I'm sure if I dig, I probably have an old phone that I used before I started using only my cell phone.
Some of these things clearly just need to be taken to the E-Cycling event and forgotten. But at the same time, it feels incredibly wasteful. I spent good money on all of those items at some point (mostly when I was a poor grad student). It seems like I should be able to get something out of them. But right now they're just stacking up and wasting space.
Anybody else have old electronics piling up?

I took my old printer! I wanted to take a gigantic monitor from 2000, but Nate said we should keep it just in case. We also have a desk top tower that has a fried mother board, but he insisted we keep that, too! I wanted to take advantage of the chance to recycle electronics, because that doesn't come up too often. The line was really long. People were dropping off the old console TVs and I wondered if it was because of the switch to DTV.
I went, too! I got rid of an old printer and a broken DVD player. I'm like Nate, I couldn't give up my old computer just yet!
