My life revolves around whether or not I have quarters.
Today, I made two trips into downtown from the office. Most of the time, I park outside my apartment building (where I have a permit to park) and walk wherever I need to go. Today, it was raining a bit, so I parked nearer my lunch destination and loaded quarters into the meter
A few hours later, I unexpectedly had to go downtown for an interview. Again with the quarters. I probably put at least $2 in meters today. That's better than the $20 ticket, I suppose. (And I overdid it today to make sure I didn't get a ticket. Often, I can only scrounge up a few nickels, so I cross my fingers.)

It's not just the meters. My apartment has no washer and dryer, so I use the coin-operated ones in the basement. More quarters.
I never have quarters when I need them. I go to the bank to get quarters for laundry and inevitably spend them in parking meters. Or when I need the quarters, the bank is closed.
I must rely too much on my debit card. Clearly I need to start spending cash in order to generate quarters.
