A very city weekend

This weekend was one of the few times I've spent nearly the whole thing in the city.

On Saturday, I helped a friend move from one apartment in the Avenues to another apartment in the Avenues. Both apartments are on the second floor. My legs still hurt.

Later, we took advantage of my fiance's rare Saturday night off to have dinner at Bistro 19. I had the vegetable cannelloni, and it was yummy. We headed to the White Rose a bit later.

On Sunday, we took a stroll around Yorkfest, bought some prints from a Wrightsville artist, and checked out the sidewalk chalk. Apparently I showed up too late to get a crabcake, so I settled for a hot dog and sweet potato fries.

Then we wandered to the York Emporium and quietly scanned the shelves while there were some poetry readings. I added to the stack of unread books I already own and checked in with owner Jim Lewin about the store's possible ghost. I'll update more on that later, but here's a tidbit: While Jim, Pam and the ghost hunters were all sitting at a table, with the store doors locked, the bell on the counter mysteriously rang on its own. (Jim didn't hear it, though.)

So it was an all-city weekend until Sunday night, when I headed to Blockbuster and the grocery store.
