Traffic advisory for Saturday

Several city streets will be affected by the York White Rose Run, which starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 31) in the 200 block of North George Street. The race ends at Sovereign Bank Stadium

George Street will be closed from North Street to Princess Street for the race start, and there will be no parking after 7 a.m. on George Street from North Street to Princess Street.  
Traffic will also be stopped briefly on several streets while the race passes by. Those streets are:
  
  • North George Street from North Street to Princess Street.
  • Princess Street from George Street to Newberry Street.
  • Newberry Street from Princess to Park Street.
  • Park Street from Newberry to Penn Street.
  • Penn Street from Park to Madison Avenue.
  • Madison Avenue from Penn to Newberry.
  • Newberry Street from Madison to Parkway Blvd.
  • Parkway Blvd. from Newberry to Atlantic Avenue.
  • Atlantic Avenue from Parkway Blvd. to Kelly Drive
  •  Kelly Drive from Atlantic Avenue to Priority Road.
  • Priority Road from Kelly Drive to Fireside Drive.
  • Fireside Drive from Priority to Pennsylvania Avenue.
  • Pennsylvania Avenue from Fireside to Willis Lane.
  • Willis Lane will be closed to westbound traffic at Parkway Blvd.
  • Pershing Avenue from Willis Lane to Jefferson Avenue.
  • Jefferson Avenue from Pershing to George Street.
  • George Street from Jefferson Avenue to Arch Street.
  • Arch Street from George Street to Queen Street.
  • Queen Street from Arch Street to Chestnut
Drivers heading north or south in the city between 8 and 11 a.m. are advised to use Beaver Street or Queen Street.
