Citizen's Police Academy applications due Monday

There's still time to apply for the York City Police Department's 15th Citizen's Police Academy.

The academy, which will be held September 13 through November 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m., will include demonstrations on evidence processing, lectures from police and justice officials and site visits to York County Control, the York City Police Department and community resource centers.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions and offer suggestions. Those who complete seven of nine classes will receive a diploma and qualify for a ride-along with a patrol officer. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Application forms are available at City Hall and are due by August 23. More details will about times and locations will be available upon acceptance.
