Next Downtown Inc walking tour will highlight York's history

lewis2.jpgCalling all history buffs. Downtown Inc is partnering with York County Heritage Trust the next installment of its historic walking tour series called Colonial/Revolutionary York on Friday.

The tour will highlight a former residences of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a famous Revolutionary War colonel as well as the headquarters for two American generals. Guide Daniel Roe, of the York County Heritage Trust, will also show participants a collection of historic drawings by Lewis Miller (one of which is pictured here) and William Wagner that depict city life and structures that no longer exist.

Tours are limited to 40 people, and pre-registration is required. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under.  
   
To register, call 849-2331 or email info@downtownyorkpa.com. If you leave a message, include your name, phone number, and the number of people in your party. Payment will be collected when the tour begins.
