Parking and traffic tips for York’s Bike Night

York’s 14th annual Bike Night will be held this weekend, and city officials have put together some tips to help residents and visitors avoid delays.

Motorcycles will descend upon downtown around 6 p.m. Friday with a parade that will begin at the Market Street gate of the York Expo Center. The parade will continue on Market, Broad and Philadelphia streets.

Driving: The following streets will be closed from 5:30 p.m. until about 10 p.m.
— West Market Street from Pershing Avenue to Queen Street
— Beaver Street from West King Street to West Philadelphia Street
— George Street from King Street to Philadelphia Street
— Pershing Avenue from West King Street to West Philadelphia Street

Parking will be restricted on the above streets beginning at 4 p.m. King and Princess streets can be used as alternate routes.

Parking: The Market Street Garage will be closed for Bike Night, but parking will be available at the Philadelphia Street and King Street garages for $5.

Additional parking will be available at the following locations:
— Susquehanna Commerce Center (free)
— Central Market Parking Deck (free)

On-street parking will be available at meters throughout town and is free after 5 p.m. See the map below for additional parking ideas.

Attending: Dogs and bicycles will not be permitted within the event area. Parade participants driving recklessly will be subject to arrest and impound of vehicles. Motorcycles must be removed from traffic lanes in the downtown area by 10 p.m. or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.
