Learn about the York Charrette

Penn State York will host a discussion panel about the York Charrette Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

The panel, which will be held at noon in the community room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center, will discuss how the charrette was created as a peacekeeping movement in response to racial riots in the summers of 1968 and 1969.

Presenters will include Raul Urrunaga, author of a study on the York Charrette, Ray Crenshaw, a York resident and past president of the York Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and attorney Mark Woodbury.
