Beer expert to appear as part of ‘Hoppy Hanukah’

Looking for something to go with that hot dog blog post?

How about a beer?

Beer expert Evan Benn is set to appear at Mudhook Brewing Co. for some “brew and chew,” according to a news release.

Evan Benn

Benn, a graduate of York Country Day School and beer columnist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, will be on-hand at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9 to speak about craft beer, and about covering beer as a journalist.

Tickets are $5 in advance, and can be purchased at the York Jewish Community Center, 2000 Hollywood Drive, or by phone at 843-0918. Registration at the door will be $7.

Benn is appearing in York as part of the York JCC’s Second Sunday Series, this one entitled “Hoppy Hanukah.”

Benn is author of “Brew in the Lou” and a Hip Hop Brew app, and is the online beer columnist for Esquire.com. He also graduated from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

Mudhook will also be selling food and drink from their menu, as part of Benn’s talk on beer cities and brewing.

Sounds like a pretty good combination.
