March in a York park looks as if it will be flecked with fun and free events.
A pair of city press releases tell of two upcoming outdoor events, set to fall just in time for spring.
The 30th annual city Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
The event, at Farquhar Park and Kiwanis Lake will run for two hours, and feature candy-filled eggs children can come out and gather for free.
Children will be divided into four age groups, and a rain date of March 24 has been set, the release states. Lunch will be offered by the York Rescue Mission, free of charge.
Just a week later, the city will host the 14th annual William Shaffer Trout Fishing Derby. It starts at 8 a.m. and runs through noon, also at the lake.
That event will be held rain or shine, and prizes will be given to winners.
Participants are advised to arrive early, in order to pick the perfect fishing spot.
