More information on Hellam Township's Valley View Park, the now-defunct venue for Elvis, Earl Scruggs and Johnny Cash, to supplement earlier the York Town Square post: The real Elvis sighted in York County in 1956.' ...

We published a short article
on a case exhibit on display at the York County Heritage Trust featuring the park owned by Shorty Fincher, well-known performer in his own right.

Our story gave a piece of information that was news to me: the Three Stooges performed at the park.

This is so interesting to me! Shorty Fincher was my Great Uncle, I have a photo of him in Alabama at my Grandfather and Grandmother's house. I would love to know more about him, can you help me with this? My Grandparents have been gone for a long time, would like to find out more. Thanks!

Angela, The York County Heritage Trust and particularly archivist Lila Fourhman-Shaull had an exhibit on Valley View Park a couple of years ago. That would be the richest repository of information on Shorty. lfourhman-shaull@yorkheritage.org.

Feel free to email me your photo of Shorty; I'd like to post on yorktownsquare.com.

Thanks,
Jim McClure
