TV producer looking for York County's heart and soul

| | Comments (0)

Christopher Cassel is a York College alumnus, class of 1998, who produces and directs documentaries.

He's working on a pilot for a Hallmark Channel series called "Only in America" and is considering York as a location.

He's looking for information, but more on that in a second.

Here's how Christopher describes the project:

"The project will trace the journey of a writer and photographer on a cross-country adventure as they seek out the "heart & soul" of the United States for a book project. Each episode focuses on a different town or region, and explores what makes it a unique thread in the fabric of America.

"Naturally, I’m looking at York as our location for the first episode. It has an ideal cross-section of urban and rural, the right balance of racial diversity, and the All-American past and present that make it a perfect choice for what we’re doing."

Christopher is seeking from folks and groups around York personal stories that will fit such show segments as:

1. Local Unsung Hero.

2. Odd & Little Known.

3. Family Affair (a family that is cooperating on either a unique business, social or recreational project).

4. Community Service (an individual or group that is making a difference in a very unique way).

If you have some suggestions, contact Christopher Cassel, Director, Special Projects, KPI, a unit of Lightworks Producing Group, 74 Trinity Place, Suite 1701, New York, NY 10006. His e-mail address is ccassel@kpitv.com.
