The owner is looking to repair and restore the house and wanted to know about the structure's history.
Fortunately, the previous owners kept deeds and other ownership information dating back to 1897.
But where else can the owner go to learn more about the home he obviously is proud of?

Historic York, Inc. and its Architectural Warehouse will hold an educational program on Saturday, Aug. 18, on how to research historic homes. Two sessions are scheduled: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
"Participants will learn about the house they live in: when was it built, how has it changed, and who lived there," a Historic York Inc. release states.
The class also will provide a primer on York County architecture. It will also cover how to examine a house's physical evidence and provide tips to study the extant written records telling about its existence in time and place.
"Tracing the history of a property and learning about the people who lived on the property can be fascinating," a release states.
Participants will receive research materials and will use library materials available at Historic York, including the historic sites files. All classes meet at Historic York, Inc., 465 Prospect Street, York.
The program is free for Historic York, Inc. members; $10 for nonmembers. Each session is open to 15 students.
