A Martin's worker bags a sample of potato chips from the line in 2004. Throughout the afternoon, random samples are taken to test salt and moisture content. Another Martin's employee performs similar tests in the morning.

And she writes about delightful childhood memories of smelling the scent of frying potatoes.

June also explores Senft Bros. Potato Chips: More on York County Potato Chips.

Something that has always interested me about Martin's, Snyder's of Hanover, Utz, Bickel's, Lay's - and Senft's. All were produced west of the Codorus Creek in York, including all the way southwest in Hanover.

Can anyone remember any chip makers in eastern York County?

June promises to tell us in a future post about El-Ge chips, which no doubt will include where that plant was located.
