No, this is not Toad Manor. It’s the Hobbit House in York, Pa.

It’s called ‪the Hobbit House around York, Pa., and you can’t help but to look its way when you drive by it. Leslie Klinger got her wish to look inside. ‘I delivered pizza there on occasion. I was sooo excited the first time, they invited me in to have a look. Very kind and generous people,’ she wrote when this History Mystery photo appeared on the York Daily Record’s Facebook page. Another Facebook commenter, Heather Klinefelter, quipped: ‘Haha! I call it Toad Manor.’ Hobbits? Toads? We’ll side with the Hobbits. So, where does it stand? Have you ever had the opportunity to visit it?

York County doesn’t like change? Wyndridge Farm reuse challenges that

Wyndridge Farm near Dallastown has found two new uses for a 77-acre farm and 120-year-old barn. Wyndridge Crafty hard cider is made there, and the place is being developed into a special events venue. That means weddings and such. ‘The plan is to make Wyndridge Farm into what (owner) Steve Groff calls “a craft beverage destination and special events venue” that will draw visitors from throughout the mid-Atlantic,’ a YDR.com story states.

‘Loop the Loop’ at the York Fair and other York County post card views

B. Derek Shaw, a roller coaster aficionado, sent along this postcard of the ‘Loop the Loop’ from York, Pa., Fair in 1904. Derek, also a postcard fan, noted that this is a ‘real photo card.’ It tells a lot about early roller coaster history, as Derek outlines in ‘Then & Now: Loop coasters at fairgrounds in the early 1900s.
