What is Adams County’s largest industry? It’s not what you think

A Hanover Evening Sun story raises an interesting question about land preservation in Adams County, which Arentz Hay and Grain actively participates in: What is Adams’ largest industry? Not tourism. Adams County ranked sixth out of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties in agricultural production in 2007, the most recent year surveyed, the Evening Sun reported. Adams, like York County, is working to preserve this farmland. Between 2007 and 2007, acreage in farming dropped by 4 percent, the story states.
