York County doesn’t like change? Wyndridge Farm reuse challenges that

Wyndridge Farm near Dallastown has found two new uses for a 77-acre farm and 120-year-old barn. Wyndridge Crafty hard cider is made there, and the place is being developed into a special events venue. That means weddings and such. ‘The plan is to make Wyndridge Farm into what (owner) Steve Groff calls “a craft beverage destination and special events venue” that will draw visitors from throughout the mid-Atlantic,’ a YDR.com story states.

Off the beaten track: 6 views of the Halloween Park/Hykes Mill/Ganoga area along the Conewago

Halloween Park at Harry Hykes old mill near Strinestown in Conewago Township sustained flood damage again this year. Operators hope to have some of the attraction open by Halloween. This sad moment serves as a reminder of the days when Hykes and other York County, Pa., mill operators faced the same unpredictable weather that impacted their way of life.

York’s First Friday art exhibit ‘Bringing the River to the City’ – Linked in to York County, Pa., history, 3/28/13

York, Pa.’s, First Friday visitors will have an opportunity to see a special art exhibit featuring Visions of the Susquehanna art. This art, as the name suggests, provides scenes along the Susquehanna River. The art was captivating when exhibited at York College of Pennsylvania several years ago, and some of the pieces are part of the permanent collection of the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area.
