Nasty York County, Pa., weather brings 10 bright news coverage moments

This is one of a host of photographs made by York, Pa., Daily Record/Sunday News photogs in recent storms. This one, by Sonya Paclob, shows a snow-cover York City from on high, say seven stories up at the Yorktowne Hotel. Why not the Yorktowne’s roof, a favorite perch for photographers over the years? It was off limits for now. It hadn’t been shoveled.

York, Pa.’s, snowy Continental Square from on high: How did the photographer get this picture?

This photo by Paul Kuehnel was marked January 2008 in the York Daily Record/Sunday News archives, but this snowy scene was actually captured long before that. York, Pa.’s, Wells Fargo Bank has long replaced CoreStates. But that’s bunny trail in the snow. The real question is here is where Paul Kuehnel was standing in making this photo of York’s Continental Square.
